Cheap Trick
As Cheap Trick gears up for their 50th anniversary, they continue to be a seminal force in rock 'n' roll. Known for their unique blend of witty lyrics, catchy melodies, and sharp riffs, the Rockford, IL-based band comprising Robin Zander (vocals/guitar), Rick Nielsen (guitar), Tom Petersson (bass), and Bun E. Carlos (drums) has solidified their place in music history with over 40 Gold and Platinum certifications and global record sales exceeding 20 million. Their celebrated hits include "Surrender," "I Want You to Want Me," and the chart-topping "The Flame."
Cheap Trick made a significant impact with their 1977 debut album and its influential track "He's A Whore." Their 1978 live album, Cheap Trick at Budokan, propelled them to international fame, featuring hits like "Surrender" and "I Want You to Want Me." Success continued with albums such as Dream Police and All Shook Up, with Lap of Luxury marking their first #1 hit with "The Flame." Over the decades, the band has maintained their relevance and influence, expanding their sound and impact.
The '90s and 2000s saw Cheap Trick remain a vital force, with the addition of drummer Daxx Nielsen in 2010 marking a new chapter. Their 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction was a testament to their enduring legacy. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Cheap Trick returned to the road with renewed vigor, continuing to tour extensively and release new music. Their 2021 album, In Another World, achieved critical acclaim and notable chart success, reaffirming their status as rock icons.
Looking ahead, Cheap Trick's 50th-anniversary tour promises to celebrate their rich legacy while showcasing their ongoing creativity and energy. "We're not cut out for sitting around," says Zander, with Nielsen adding, "We never stop making records or touring." Their relentless drive and dedication ensure that Cheap Trick remains not just a nostalgia act, but a vibrant and vital presence in rock music.d Award and was voted The Jukebox Artist of the Year Award by The Amusement and Music Owners Association of New York.

Montgomery Gentry at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort
Eddie Montgomery's solo debut Ain't No Closing Me Down channels the spirit of his late partner, Troy Gentry, who died in a 2017 helicopter crash. Despite the loss, Eddie made a promise to Troy: Montgomery Gentry's music would go on. This album, a mix of raucous honky-tonk and heartfelt moments, reflects that commitment. "Troy is always with me," says Eddie, who still feels his presence onstage. The Wild Bunch, the band that toured with MG, backs him up on the album, honoring their shared legacy.
Montgomery Gentry rose to stardom in the late '90s with hits like Tattoos & Scars and "Hell Yeah," collecting numerous accolades. Eddie credits his upbringing in Kentucky, where his family played in honky-tonks, as the foundation for his music career. Even after Troy's death, Eddie kept his word to continue the MG sound, tapping into his memories of their time together to create this album.
A major theme in the music is resilience, with tracks like "Ain't No Closing Me Down" reflecting Eddie's defiance in the face of loss and hardship. The song "Alive and Well" speaks to the personal grief of losing Troy and two sons, but also to the strength that comes from carrying on. Other tracks like "Ain't She Beautiful" and "Higher" with Tanya Tucker show Eddie's patriotism and love for his country, while songs like "My Son" reflect his deep connection to his family.
While the album touches on both painful and joyful moments, it remains true to the rowdy, honest sound that defines Montgomery Gentry. Eddie continues to find joy in life-whether it's grilling for friends during the pandemic or spending time with his wife, Jen Jen, who inspired the love song "She Just Loves Me."
Though he's slowed down with age, when Eddie puts on his hat and grabs his guitar, it's like old times, with Troy's memory always by his side. For Eddie, it's more than music-it's a promise to live life fully, no matter what, and to always keep the spirit of Montgomery Gentry alive.

Collective Soul
Ed Roland can describe 30 years in Collective Soul with two words.
"It's an honor and privilege," said the frontman and songwriter behind the Georgia-born band known for a bedrock of time-tested hits. "It's that simple. Just being able to do what you love, it's an honor and a privilege."
Since launching a major label career in 1994, Collective Soul has charted a path that most rock bands dream of, but only few achieve. They cut through a noisy 1990s rock scene with a knack for stick-to-you- like-glue melodies, roof-shaking guitars, and a touch of Southern grit. Behind enduring singles like "Shine," "December" and "The World I Know," the band hit the ground running for what would not be a short-lived sprint, but a steady marathon of uncompromising - and always catchy - albums. Since launching, they've become one of the most reliable rock bands in America, a tried-and-true force in a world often defined by turmoil and turbulence.
And in the same year the band celebrates three decades of music making, Collective Soul returns with what may be its most ambitious project to-date: HERE TO ETERNITY, a double LP cut in the California home once owned by Elvis Presley. With sharp, polished rock riffs and Roland's signature wise-to-the- world storytelling, HERE TO ETERNITY plays like a full-throttle Collective Soul album from the moment it begins spilling out of stereo speakers.
"When I gave the album to management and radio promo," he said, "I was like, 'Put the needle on any song, I'm that proud of it."
Tickets are $75, $65 or $55 plus tax and an online/phone ticketing fee (this fee is waived when tickets are purchased in the Gift Shop). Tickets in the ADA section are for patrons with mobility disabilities and up to three companions. If companion seating is not available because the ADA section is sold out, RCGR will offer other seats as close as possible to the accessible seat, if available, at the purchase price of the other section.

Josh Turner at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort
Josh Turner, a loyal member of traditional country music, continues to impress with his latest album, "This Country Music Thing." More than two decades after his debut, Turner remains committed to his roots, with his deep, resonant bass voice and dedication to quality craftsmanship. While the music industry has seen many changes, Turner has stayed true to his style and is now enjoying a period of creative confidence.
Born in South Carolina and shaped by faith and country music, Turner first gained recognition with his 2001 Grand Ole Opry debut. His blend of classic country, gospel, and Appalachian influences quickly established him as a unique voice in the genre. Over his career, he has sold over 6 million albums, including the Platinum-certified "Long Black Train" and the 3X Platinum "Your Man," and has accumulated five Number Ones and 15 RIAA certifications.
Turner's new album features 11 tracks, three of which he wrote himself, including the title track, which he describes as a tribute to his career and mindset. The album blends modern sounds with traditional country elements, including driving rhythms and rich instrumental textures, all anchored by Turner's commanding vocal performance.
The album kicks off with "Down In Georgia," a nod to Southern comfort and personal ties, followed by tracks like "Heatin' Things Up" that showcase Turner's ability to infuse energy into romantic themes. Songs such as "If You Ain't With Me" and "Somewhere With Her" highlight his skill in delivering classic country comfort, while tracks like "Two Steppin' On the Moon" remind listeners of the danceable side of country music.
A notable feature of the album is Turner's personal touch, including the fiddle-drenched "Whirlwind" and the tender "Pretty Please," which features a cameo by his wife, Jennifer. The final track, "Unsung Hero," is a heartfelt tribute to his grandfather, reflecting Turner's appreciation for the support he has received throughout his career.
Turner remains humble and grateful for his success, emphasizing his ongoing desire to connect with fans and keep country music's traditions alive while introducing fresh elements. His dedication to his craft and the genre is evident throughout "This Country Music Thing," making it a significant addition to his already impressive body of work.
